More To Be Thankful For

As I was sitting in Sacrament Meeting today, I was struck with more things to be thankful for. So, it looks like the 'Things To Be Thankful For' list may soon become a regularly recurring topic on our blog.

One thing that I was super thankful for in Sacrament today was the awesome 11-year-old boy sitting next to me who willingly sings the hymns with me. Of course, I'm slightly biased because it was Spencer, but he is a great singer and I love that he participates and helps bring the spirit to the meeting.

Another thing I was thankful for at church today was my friend, Jacque. She no longer has kids of the age to need books or toys at church, but she always seems to have something fun (like books or finger puppets) in her bag. And she always brings them out just in time to help when Chloe is getting bored!

More Than I Could Ask For

One more thing to add to the list of things I'm thankful for....

Earl's wonderful fellow employees.

They have been great through all of this. Coming to visit with us at the hospital, sending balloons and a cute teddy bear, bringing a sweet and really huge get well card. But we didn't even find out about how much they were doing to help us until Earl tried to go back to work on Monday.

They weren't expecting him back yet, although, Brayden had be home since Friday. They sent him home and also allowed him to take Tuesday off so we could take Brayden to get some more testing done. Then, we were told that they had collected donations of vacation days for us. Earl will end up using their donated time for the 12 days he had off of work, but they actually collected over 30 days for us.

over 30 days!!! I can't believe it. They are so amazing.

We have really felt so blessed. Thanks to you all for helping us feel like we weren't doing it alone.

Things I'm Thankful For

Now that I'm ready to be done with the hospital updates, I can get back to my sporadic blogging here! This post was also on the hospital blog, but I have so much to be grateful for, I thought it would be good to post it twice!

While Brayden was in the hospital, I started thinking about things that I am very thankful for. Some of these things are very obvious, others are a little obscure, but no less important.

1. Prayers from family and friends.
2. Willingness of people to drop what they are doing and help out with whatever we need.
3. Nurses who 'translate' for the doctors so parents understand what they are saying.
4. Direct deposit of paychecks. (didn't have to make an extra trip to the bank!)
5. Laughter.
6. The carpool lane on I-15.
7. Wireless internet.
8. Text messages.
9. Yummy hospital cafeteria.
10. Friends and family who are willing to pay an arm and a leg for gas to come to PCMC.
11. Priesthood blessings.
12. Nurses and techs who love Brayden.
13. Living so close to such a great hospital.
14. The play center at the hospital.
15. The best hubby in the world.
16. My super kids.
17. The best friends and neighbors in the world.

I know there are more. The list could go on forever. But each of these things helped us in a different way during those long two weeks.

We have so much to be thankful for!

Sweet Kids

I'm so glad I made time to go to enrichment meeting last night. I heard some sweet stories about my kiddos. Including one about Andraia telling our sweet neighbor, "I just have to tell you how much I love you!" They sure can melt hearts. I'm glad to know they are sharing their soft sides with others. And I'm so glad to hear the stories. It warms a mom's heart and makes me think I must be doing something right!
